Items and Techniques
We have a lineup of items which allows you to create your own “Ocean” by combining items all based on designs related to the ocean such as waves, leaves, and flowers, each with its own meaning.
Motifs and designs are inspired from the beautiful Island of Hawaii, the core essence of our creations.
Our collections are the “Your Ocean” collection, which has a beautiful glittering Lino (gloss) finish, and the “KAI” collection, which has a vintage atmosphere with a mixture of ruggedness and beauty.
Our main collection “Kai” (meaning “Ocean” in Hawaiian), is inspired from the beautiful image of vintage Hawaiian atmosphere.
The main technique used for engraving is a rare traditional technique originated from Hawaii called “Deep Engraving”, which can create items with a three-dimensional effect with a single graver.
Unlike the shallow line carving that is widely used in precious metal carving, the finished product with a unique bumpy character on its surface, has a sufficient presence even when worn alone.
*Note that engraving techniques might differ depending on the items due to the fact that each item has its ideal way of engraving.
The one OCEAN JEWELRY was born with the goal of creating a new jewelry genre called “OCEAN JEWELRY” for ocean lovers.
Before creating the brand, I was working mainly as an Hawaiian Jewelry Engraver.
Hawaiian Jewelry is of course very much related and close to the Ocean.
However, one of the things I always felt unfortunate was that (especially male) surfers and people related to the ocean are more selective of “land” jewelry (Native American jewelry).
Simply speaking, that gave me a complicated feeling, similar to something like a heart break.
That’s when I decided to create something which might have a chance to give the ocean lovers a new option.
The Ocean is our source, our teacher, and our sanctuary.
Ocean don’t speak, but it teaches us many things.
“Stay Ocean. Stay Gold”
We wish our items to be a precious and long-lasting partner for those who love the Ocean.
As you might simply predict, the phrase “The one” stands for the so-called “1”.
We value this number “one” (which might be more of something like a “spirit”) in several ways.
“This is the one!”
Speaking of artistic creation, there is nothing better than being able to create something unique.
Certainly, if you acquire intellectual property rights, you will be the only one publicly.
However, in the case of items that strongly reflect various inspirations (for example, jewelries and accessories are one of them), the definition of “uniqueness” itself is somewhat unclear, and I personally think it’s very complicated and hard (plus, don’t feel so positive) when it comes to comparing or evaluating one with another.
In that sense, the one and only thing in artistic creation is an eternal admiration and something like a lifelong unrequited love.
On the other hand, I believe that one creation can become a special one for somebody.
“This is the one!”
This is what people say when they come across or find what they were looking for.
It’s so simple, but my goal will always be to make something that can make somebody feel this way.
This is the purest origin of the brand name.
I believe that the nearest social contribution people can make is for each individual to perform better.
My job is creation.
I love it from the bottom of my heart.
That’s why I have a responsibility to pursue better things, and I want to always give 120%, not 100%.
Of course, there are good and bad times, but for 120%, I want to keep distractions away as much as possible.
Therefore, it is important to make intentions, words and actions “one”.
When “what you think”, “what you say”, and “what you do” don’t match, most of the time it leads to stress.
Hawaiian Aloha spirit has similar philosophy.
In the word ALOHA,
‘Olu’ olu (joy)
Ha’aha’a (modesty, honesty)
these meanings are included.
Hawaii is very heartwarming and relaxing.
This is because local people value and try to unite this ALOHA to maintain a good balance in them, which leads to making the atmosphere and the culture so special.
Just like uniting the ALOHA, I believe that keeping myself as “1” as much as possible will lead to better creation and a small contribution to the society.
The Unique Nature
It is often said that nature has a soul and power.
I think it might have something to do with everything in nature being “unique”.
No Waves, leaves, and flowers are the same.
Everything is individual, only one.
